Family of 4 here, 2 adults, 2 children (9 & 4 yrs). Had to book their connecting rooms. The beds can fit 2 of us, actually. The rooms are relatively small. Towels are changed every day. The staff are generally able to speak English. The hotel is right next to a temple, I guess, that houses their columbarium (which can be seen from the balcony on level 2). We were shocked when we first discovered it, but it doesn’t bother us at all. The nearest train station is Uguisudani, which is really nearby, and you just need to walk straight, no turns. Another station is Iriya, also walk straight with no turns, but it’s a bit further away, about a 10-minute walk. There’s a nearby convenience store and drugstore. For Muslims, there is a nearby (about 10 minutes walk) Uzbekistan restaurant that sells Japanese food and fries (perfect for small kids!). There is a microwave and a washing machine + dryer on level 2. They provide an iron upon request (it was already placed in our room as we requested it before we checked in). Overall, the hotel looks like it does in the pictures and we like how close it is to the train station. Upon exiting Uguisudani station, cross the road and turn left. You will find a lift up ahead.

Ueno is a tranquil and pleasant neighbourhood that is well-connected to the rest of Tokyo. The hotel is conveniently located near the Yamamote Line, making it easy to reach various neighbourhoods from the airport or to take a train for day trips. The hotel's location is also great for exploring the immediate area on foot. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and opted for the Japanese version, which included rice. While the rooms are small, as is typical in Tokyo, everything is functional and well-designed, accommodating our large and medium suitcases without any issues. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the attentive service stood out, especially the special touch of the scent on our clothes. Don't forget to check out the terrace; it offers a beautiful view, and when we visited, we had it all to ourselves, possibly due to the winter season.

We spent 9 days at the hotel after staying 8 days in Tamachi. The cost was a little more but we desperately needed the room space for suitcases. It is so rare to find hotels in Tokyo with floorspace so we were so chuffed to have moved hotels. The roof terrace is also a really great bonus! The beds are traditional floor style so not the most comfy but we got used to it. The JR lines are only a 2 minute walk away which was so so so amazing! The metro was also nearby but we ended up using the JR 90% of the time or walking 20 minutes to Ueno to get the Shinkansen.

I loved the quiet street, and the amazing neighborhood. It was on a really good JR line which meant we could explore easily. The hotel itself had a lovely coffee shop downstairs which was great, and felt really nice and clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful, they organized our luggage delivery to our next stop, supplied us with amenities we needed, and even helped us find some medication when we weren’t well. The room was cleaned every single day, which made it nice and fresh to come back to. The room is small, as expected but really nice.

The hotel has good decor, is clean and relatively quiet. I thought the room (queen) was a good value and size for the price paid, especially considering Tokyo standards. The view of Tokyo Skytree was also nice. The staff was professional and pleasant. I like that there is laundry on-site, which was convenient and easy to use. I was a bit concerned about the fact that the hotel is in a known "love district" but as a solo traveler, the area always felt safe and it was quiet.
